Art is one of the things separates humans from animals. The production of something that stimulates the senses but has no purpose outside of intellectual exploration is not achieved by any other creature.

But this brings up all sorts of questions: Does it actually have value in society? Is it used to distract us from the important things in life or does it have purpose beyond what we can easily sense.

In this episode we speak to Politics researcher and former lecturer from Monash University, Dr Michael Janover, whose research into the way science, morals and art can influence politics guides our discussion.

Also there are jokes.

In the episode we erroneously mention that Dr Janover is lecturing at Monash University. He recently retired from that activity.
